I've heard so much about the Aranzi Aronzo cafe
that I willingly stood in line
outside the cafe even before it had opened.
What's all the hype about?
We are about to enter

she is my favorite character.
店長是我最喜歡的白兔妹

Looking up as we walked in
we were greeted by 
the Aranzi Aronzo characters.
走進去抬起頭
所有的阿郎基阿龍佐成員
在天花板上和我們招手

灑小花熱情歡迎

Kappa is already full
while Panda is still eating

Good Cho's is a hidden gem

right in the heart of modern Taipei.

Nestled in a cluster of renovated 

traditional Taiwanese buildings,

located right next to 

the modern Taipei 101,

Good Cho's brings together Taiwan's 

history, art, music, food, literature 

and handmade goods. 

在台北101旁,

有個被保存很好的老地方,

這裡提倡台灣的

歷史,藝術,音樂,食物和手工藝品

To the right of the large wooden counter
are their famous handmade bagels.
Menus are drawn on the black boards.
Good Cho's offers a wide range of
Western-Chinese fusion cuisine
that you probably won't find anywhere else.
They also have a solid coffee, tea
and dessert selection.
它和現實的樣子真的一模一樣.
長長的木頭櫃檯右側

後面的一排小黑板寫著菜單.

Good Cho's famous bagels

which are handmade in house.

They combine the Western bagel

with Chinese ingredients

such as purple rice red bean flavor,

black sesame, etc.

Their daily special flavors are so popular

that they often sold out.

好,丘最有名的是

他們自己手工作的貝果,

把西方的貝果配上中式的食材,

創造出好吃的新口味,

例如紫米紅豆,黑芝麻等.

他們的每日限量口味超受歡迎

常常賣光呢.

The actual cafe portion of Good Cho's

is a bright large spacious place

I loved how they mixed

different pieces of furniture together.

好喜歡把完全不同的桌椅

配在一起的巧妙感覺.

I got a cup of iced coffee

and one of the original bagels.

The bagel came perfectly toasted

and it was excellent with the homemade spreads.

點了杯冰咖啡

和一個原味的貝果嘗嘗.

貝果端上來時烤的熱呼呼的

塗上他們自家做的果醬好好吃.

The front area of Good Cho's 

offers a wide range of products 

including food, music, books, handmade goods,

all made and designed in Taiwan.

To the left is the kitchen windows,

where customers can see the bagels being made.

The lights are made out of Da Tong rice cooker lids.

左邊是廚房的窗戶,

客人們可以看到貝果的製作過程.

上頭的燈是用大同電鍋做的噢.

Another set of lights designed for Good Cho's

I also had fun writing on a postcard

decorating it with the masking tapes 

and ink stamps provided

and mailing it to myself!

Balboa Island

 

Looking through my photos

I can't believe I haven't shared 

about my trip to Balboa Island last July

(yes, it has been that long)

A little island community

with beautiful houses

one main street with pretty little shops.

I tried the famous local dessert,

a frozen banana dipped with chocolate

then rolled with sprinkles 

or whatever sweets of your choice.

 For a Disney fan

Downtown Disney is Never Never Land

where childhood dreams come true

with out the long lines or the costly admission fee!

對於迪士尼迷而言

Downtown Disney是天堂

不用擔心昂貴的入門費

或者必須大排長龍

就可以像小孩子一樣,

享受這個充滿歡笑的樂園.
