Balboa Island

 

Looking through my photos

I can't believe I haven't shared 

about my trip to Balboa Island last July

(yes, it has been that long)

A little island community

with beautiful houses

one main street with pretty little shops.

I tried the famous local dessert,

a frozen banana dipped with chocolate

then rolled with sprinkles 

or whatever sweets of your choice.

他是一個獨特的小島社區

有漂亮的小房子

社區裡只有一條擁有店面的大街

把冷凍香蕉滾在巧克力中

然後再灑上糖果

November days

Red cups at Starbucks
red leaves on the pavement
and holiday themed
salt and pepper shakers
Remind us that live in
this land without four seaons,
that November has arrived.

From the sound of crashing waves

From the sound of crashing waves

I hear the distant rumbling

of a thousand hooves 

of a thousand white horses

running without hesitation or fear

along with the tide of fate

until

boom

using all of their strengh

they leap onto the rocks

leaving behind a splash of white foam

as the only testimony of their efforts

on this earth.

看那波濤洶湧

的百匹駿馬

用盡全身力氣

毫不猶豫的往前

　衝,衝,衝啊

隨著命運拼命的衝吧

　直到

　

轟

　奮力一越

獻上夢想和青春

　只留下一瞬間的浪花

　當做他們努力的見證.

The advantage of having friends

who like to eat (and eat well)

is discovering new food places

like this delightful French-inspired

Japanese bakery with a sit-down cafe

Pastisserie Chantilly

Such a great place to enjoy desserts

hang out with friends, relax etc

My favorite is "Othello" 

where dark chocolate meets black sesame

to create a surprisingly light and refreshing dessert

Now if only Chantilly is closer to where I live...

We spent Memorial Day

at Hermosa Beach 

attending the fiesta

We took off our shoes

rolled up our jeans

and ran in our bare feet over the hot sand

and jumped into the cool waves

with the wind in our hair

and our faces kissed red by the sun.

My first "holiday"in six months.
